Project Description Country: USA Location: La Mesa Total Budget: $10,500 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: 75 bikes will be given to second grade students in a title 1 elementary school in the LaMesa Spring Valley school district. An annual project during the holidays between a local school and La Mesa Rotary. Students in the second grade are asked to write an essay on how to make my neighborhood a better place in hope of winning a bike. However, in reality, the entire class is gifted a bike.
