Summary: Feeding Low-Income Single-Parent Mothers and their Children
|
|
Our club selects 25-28 low-income single parent families and their children to give a large box of food along with a frozen turkey during in November and again in December. We include rice, beans, pasta as well as fresh vegetables, eggs, oil, cereal, etc. We place families on the list that we have vetted and we know their situation. We purchase the food at grocery stores with lower prices and one of our members, Jose Monforte, owns a restaurant so he can purchase the turkeys at commercial prices. We deliver the boxes to central locations close to their homes. The families are always very appreciative.
