Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Imperial County

Total Budget: $2,000

Area of Focus: None

Activity Type: Education: General

Summary: Arts, Culture, STEM, and Ag Education Programs for Imperial County Youth.

El Centro Rotary Club will support youth educational opportunities, including those in local arts and culture, STEM, and ag-based education during the 2025-26 Rotary Year including:

1. Imperial County Museum Education Programs, $1000: Annual contributions of $500 to the Imperial Valley Desert Museum and $500 to the Pioneers' Museum to support free educational programs to area children.

2. Robotics Club, Central High School, $500: We provide annual support for the Central High School Robotics club to encourage STEM education as a future professional pathway for El Centro students.

3. Imperial County Midwinter Fair, $500: We provide annual support for the county fair which provides area students the opportunity to gain important communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills through its various agricultural-based programs.

Funding of these programs are critical to provide opportunities that many school children in this rural county have limited access. By supporting funding of these youth-based education programs, our club is provided local students the opportunity to develop different skills and a potential pathway for pursuing future careers in those fields.

Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed)

Please note: We did not receive a request for Midwinter Fair Funding so we were able to support a different event, Soroptomist Club STEM Event in its place for $500
