Food insecurity continues to affect individuals and families throughout our community. Rising food costs have increased financial burdens on households, making it difficult for many to consistently provide meals for themselves and their families.
Gothenburg Rotary will provide food assistance to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity by assembling and distributing approximately 80 boxes of food to households in Gothenburg. Each box will contain a balanced selection of packaged and fresh food items intended to provide several meals and help reduce the burden of food costs.
Club members will be involved in all phases of the project. We will organize the project, purchase food, and assemble and distribute the boxes. Grant funds will be used to pay for food and incidental expenses. Planning will take place in June and July. Food will be purchased in July and August. The assembly and distribution of boxes will take place in August.
