Project Description Country: USA Location: San Diego Total Budget: $5,000 Area of Focus: None Activity Type: Community Development: Construction/Renovation Summary: Replace 4 security shutters on the LaJolla Cove Lifeguard Tower In collaboration with La Jolla Coastal Conservancy, San Diego Fire-Rescue Foundation, City of San Diego Parks and Recreation and City Lifeguards, this project will fund the replacement of 4 Roll-Up Security Shutters for the LaJolla Cove Lifeguard Tower. These security shutters are beyond service life due to constant exposure to age and the harsh marine environment. Their replacement has been identified as a priority by the San Diego Lifeguards but are a low priority for funding and replacement by the City of San Diego. LaJolla Coastal Conservancy has coordinated a city approved vendor, a replacement contract and ongoing city provided maintenance for the replacement shutters.
