The sixth grade class at Arnold Public School, in cooperation with their teacher and the local Rotary club, wrote essays about possible projects that would benefit the community of Arnold. All of these projects had to fit the 4-Way Test. One essay was written about installing a drinking faucet at the Allen City Park. Currently there is no water available to park patrons. Kids have to bring bottled water or go home and get a drink while playing. The student suggesting this idea stated that two needs would be met: providing clean drinking water to park patrons and eliminating plastic bottles in the trash. So, the Rotary Club will research, order, and purchase an appropriate sized drinking faucet for the park. The park already has plumbing available. The Rotary Club will coordinate with the Arnold Village employees, who will do the installation. The Rotary Club will pay for the faucet out of fundraising money. The faucet will be installed in September of 2026.
