The Emilio Nares Foundation provides services to children who are going through cancer treatment. They provide snack bags to the children who are having to drive and from their homes or hotels to their cancer treatment centers in San Diego County and Orange County. Everyone likes snacks, and these kids see them as a good pick me up and distraction from what they are going through. Our Club will purchase and pack hundreds of snack bags to provide to the Emilio Nares Foundation to distribute to their children undergoing cancer treatment. Approximately 175 bags will supply the organization for one month and our Club plans to funds to purchase the supplies, snacks and manpower for packing such items. Our Club will hold a meeting where we pack all of the bags as a service project, along with the representatives from the Emilio Nares Foundation. This project meets the needs of child health, as it is supplying much needed snacks, nutrition and distractions to children and families going through a difficult time. Sometimes it is difficult for timing for these families to get from home or their hotel to the hospital for treatment and then back, to make sure their child is receiving the proper nutrition they need. This will help alleviate that stress and pressure for the parents, by having a nutritional snack pack available for their child. Our Club has budgeted $500.00 for this project, and it is expected to be completed before the end of 2026.
