These funds will be used to send students to district leadership events, focused on servant leadership and spreading Rotary's mission of "service above self" to the next generation.
Send 1 student to LEAD (Leadership, Ethics, Aspirations, and Determination) leadership camp for 8th graders in October 10-11, 2026 ($300). LEAD is focused on preparing student leaders to continue their leadership into high school, set and achieve goals, make decisions based on their personal ethics, create an inclusive community and promote peace.
Send 1 student to RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) leadership camp for 11th graders in April 9-11 2027 ($400). RYLA is focused on taking leaders and helping them become servant leaders in there school and community and promote values that will help them be better citizens in there society, in there school and community. They will learn how they can use their leadership skills to not only achieve their own goals, but help others as well and promote peace.
4-Way Test ($450). We a looking to host our first club level 4-Way Test Speech Contest in 2027. We want our club to be able to send students to the district 4-Way Test Speech Contest in 2027, to grow our youth outreach and provide San Diego students an opportunity to develop and showcase their public speaking skills. Funds will cover office supplies, prizes, lunch and related expenses.
Our club members will be involved in selecting the students and as facilitators.
