Overview: Harvest House is a food pantry that provides food, resources, and hope to about 3,000 families per year in Burleson and surrounding communities. It provides approximately 222,000 pounds of food annually and is a vital resource for expectant mothers with limited means.
.
Needs:
Building a wood (or similar) loading dock and double door installation: current setup requires de-palletizing, moving food on carts pushed by hand, and re-palletizing in storage building next door. Double doors and dock will allow use of electric pallet jacks.
.
Improving the food drive-through and parking lot: extensive cracking, uneven pavement, and failing surfaces have created safety hazards, increased maintenance costs, and flooding in the building. Fixing these issues will improve safety, accessibility, operational
efficiency, and long-term sustainability for Harvest House
.
Timeline:
September/October 2026
.
Rotarian and Community Involvement:
Rotarians and other members of the community will have an opportunity to financially support the project and serve side-by-side assisting professional tradespeople with loading dock construction, re-bar tying, and forms placement.
