Rotary Club of Dombivli East [RCDE] has a long-standing legacy of implementing impactful, sustainable, and community-driven projects across healthcare, education, environment, water & sanitation, and community development.
We have identified a critical need for paediatric cardiac care in India, where approximately 200,000 children are born annually with Congenital Heart Diseases (CHD). Alarmingly, only about 2% of these children receive the necessary treatment. This gap in care is driven by a lack of new born screening and awareness, the high cost of surgeryâ₀"averaging US$1,845 (ââšÂ¹1.75 lakh) per caseâ₀"a shortage of paediatric cardiac centres outside major cities, and the prohibitive travel and accommodation expenses faced by families.
To address this, our project will facilitate life-saving cardiac surgeries for children at the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai.
RCDE has been a consistent force in the fight against congenital heart defects [CHD] for economically challenged families. Our club has supported 234 Child heart surgeries through Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Centre, Navi Mumbai, India.
