Project Description Country: USA Location: Fairbanks, AK Total Budget: $4,000 Area of Focus: Community economic development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: FREE variety of service for homeless individuals to empower them to get jobs. To help the Fairbanks HOMELESS COALITION coordinate an event that will provide free services to homeless individuals to be able to empower them and prepare them to look for jobs. The Homeless Coalition will be conducting at least 1, as many as 3 of these type of events throughout the year. Rotarians will help by volunteering time and services within their respective vocations to assist at the events. Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed) Due to the cancellation of a 2017-2018 grant by another club, the district grants committee voted to allocated an extra $1,500 to P-1592. This will bring the total amount of DDF to $2,500. From Jose Martinez: The Fairbanks Golden Heart Rotary sponsored the Homeless Coalition, coordinated by the North Star Community Foundation. The event was a one-day event to help provide services and a meal to homeless people in Fairbanks. The funds we used, helped pay for the Westmark location and the meal provided to the homeless.
