The program will provide a structured academic foundation in regional geopolitics, security, migration, and development in Jordan. It also involves engagement with policymakers, NGO representatives, academics and individuals affected by displacement. The final phase of will be an independent field research project extending from late July to late August 2025 in collaboration with the Jordanian Legal Aid Organization (JLAO) and other legal institutions. Dr. Eric Nigh, Director of the Middle Eastern and Arabic Studies Department at UW is her advisor for the entire project. Additionally, Sophia has established connections with legal professionals and NGO's in Jordan, as well as the broader region, to facilitate data collection and field access.
