Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Grand Island

Total Budget: $1,576

Area of Focus: Community economic development

Activity Type: Community Development: General

Summary: Eight bicycles given to adults in rehabilitation programs who are needing transportation to go to a job.

Last year's grant project focused on providing bicycles for children needing transportation to school. The project was so successful that we now would like to focus on adults who are working to stabilize their lives and need transportation to go to a job. As done prior, when a bicycle is provided it will include a helmet, pump and lock. We will work with local organizations such as Heartland United Way, Crossroads Mission, and Hope Harbor to identify qualifying individuals. We are looking for those who have achieved success in their rehabilitation journey and securing transportation will help them get to a job.
