Rotary Club: El Cajon Sunset Project Title: Free Medical Camp 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? This project was funded by Rotary District 5340 DDF and a matching donation from Rotary Club of El Cajon Sunset. Rotary year 2024-25, the club organized a free medical camp that treated over 1000 patients in one day. The prevailing medical needs encouraged partners to repeat the same project in 2025 - 2026 Rotary year. This grant funded a free medical camp at Nguluni Market in Machakos county in December to February, with an emphasis on men's health and child immunization 2. How many people benefited from this project? Over 1100 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? 570 men and 408 women received direct health benefits including knowing their HIV status, screening for noncommunicable diseases. Over 250 children were immunized. Symbolic & Psychological Impact: The tree planting created a lasting symbol of hope and commitment, potentially fostering sustained community engagement for a healthier future. Humanitarian need: access to integrated health services and stigma reduction for the general population. Specifically, it addressed: Lack of healthcare access for men. The outreach camp provided essential screenings (HIV, blood pressure, diabetes), health education, and treatment referrals specifically targeted to men, a group often underrepresented in routine health services. HIV-related stigma and lack of awareness: The awareness walk, speeches, and community games were designed to reduce stigma, disseminate crucial information on prevention and treatment, and foster a supportive community environment. Need for psychosocial support: The provision of mental health counselling addressed the often overlooked psychosocial and mental health needs associated with HIV and general well-being. Overdue child immunization was done. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 12 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. Rotarians: Fundraised and provided ideas for the project. RC El Cajon Sunset wired funds and paid fees. Created awareness for the needs for medical care. Provided project final report, documentation and pictures. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? Community Change Advocates - Organized the Event. Machakos County Department of Health - Provided some Nurses, Clinical Officers, Permits and Ambulance 7. Income
