Cardiovascular diseases are among the leading causes of death in India. Rural populations often lack timely access to screening, diagnosis, emergency stabilization, and specialist referral.
The Rotary Royals Mobile Cardiac Screening & Emergency Response Unit aims to bridge this gap by providing free cardiac screening, health education, emergency stabilization, and referral services across rural and underserved areas of Jalgaon District.
The project will deliver preventive healthcare through village outreach camps, ECG screening, blood pressure and diabetes screening, CPR awareness, telemedicine support, and referrals to higher centres when required.
Need Assessment
Many villages in Jalgaon District face:
* Limited access to cardiology services
* Delayed diagnosis of hypertension and heart disease
* Lack of awareness regarding heart attack symptoms
* Poor emergency response
* Financial barriers to preventive screening
Early diagnosis and timely referral can significantly improve outcomes and reduce avoidable complications.
Project Goal
To reduce preventable deaths and disability caused by cardiovascular diseases by delivering accessible, affordable, and sustainable mobile cardiac healthcare services.
Objectives
Within three years, the project will:
* Screen 20,000 adults
* Conduct 300 village cardiac screening camps
* Perform 10,000 ECG examinations
* Detect 2,500 high-risk individuals
* Train 300 ASHA workers and community volunteers in CPR and heart attack recognition
